Happy Meatless Monday! I am not gonna lie, I am seriously excited to share this meatless recipe with you today. Why? For SO many reasons. For one, they’re simple to make- only FOUR ingredients (or less, really). They’re bite size- which is always FUN but most importantly, they’re DELICIOUS.
What are they? Macadamia, Cacao and Cherry Recovery Bites! Delicious for dessert but designed as the perfect post-workout recovery treat!

As much as I would LOVE to take credit for the flavor combination in these delicious little nuggets, I can’t. The amazing taste and highly nutritious content of these bites is in part because of Onnit’s Trilogy Butter.
They’ve taken macadamia nuts that are loaded with healthy fats, raw cacao which is packed with minerals and antioxidants and cherries that are rich in Vitamin C and radical fighting antioxidants and combined them to make this seriously amazing butter.

While it does taste ah-mazing all by itself, I decided to take it to the next level and combine it with Onnit’s Hemp Force Vanilla Açaí to create these baked bites making them both portable and perfect post-workout.
The Hemp Force Vanilla Açaí in and of itself is unlike everything I have ever tried and you KNOW that I have tried quite a bit of protein powder. Not only is it vegan, gluten, soy and dairy free but it also has a flavor profile of unlike anything I have ever tasted.
The vanilla and açai give it the sweet and fruit taste that you desire (which blends AMAZINGLY with the Trilogy Butter) and the hemp protein offers all the nutrition and health benefits of a complete protein. In addition, the protein powder also includes nutrient rich mesquite powder PLUS chia and flax seeds for extra healthy fats and fiber!
So what do you get when you combine the two with an egg and bake for a bit? These super yummy recovery bites. Delicious enough for dessert but perfect to refuel with after a tough workout or hard run!
Macadamia, Cacao & Cherry Recovery Bites
- 1/2 cup Macadamia, Cacao & Cherry Trilogy Butter
- 3 scoops Vanilla Açaí Hemp Force Protein Powder
- 1 egg
- 1/4 cup dried cranberries (optional)
- 1/8 cup sliced almonds, chopped (optional- for topping only)
Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
- Mix together Trilogy Butter & protein powder together in a large bowl.
- Whip egg in a separate bowl then mix with protein and nut butter until thoroughly combined.
- Mix in dried cherries, if desired.
- Spoon into greased mini muffin pan.
- Bake for approximately 5 minutes and then remove to top with chopped almonds, if desired.
- Bake for another 5 minutes making sure not to burn.
- Remove and let cool then enjoy!
Makes 12 mini muffins or “bites”.
