Amazing Apple Recipes For Anytime of Day

So today our theme is “only in your state” meaning that we are sharing recipes that are specific to our state.  Since I shared my twist on a popular regional recipe recently (CNY Truffle Salt Potatoes), I decided to share a few recipes that are apple themed given that New York State’s official fruit is apples!

Gluten Free Apple Recipes for Anytime of Day {breakfast, lunch, dinner, dessert}

Rather than whip up a new recipe for today (I haven’t been home), I decided to roundup a few apple recipes that I’ve previously shared that show apples aren’t just for pie! In fact, you really can enjoy apples for every meal: breakfast, lunch, dinner and of course, dessert.  

Let’s start with dessert for breakfast, shall we?

Craving apple crisp but it’s only 8 AM? No biggie, just whip up one of these apple crisp parfaits! They’re made with protein, soft cinnamon apples and topped with homemade granola….can you say YUM?! :)

What better way to get your apple a day than slicing up one and throwing it in a delicious salad? The apples in this chestnut and mâche salad offer a nice, crisp acidic sweetness to the nutty and buttery flavors of the chestnuts and greens! Seriously satisfying plus it’s easy to make ahead or whip up on the spot.

Crappy photography aside (can you tell this was before I got my camera?), this Caramelized Onion, Apple and Arugula Pizza is OUT OF THIS WORLD.  Made with gluten free quinoa crust, this pizza also has the potential to be dairy free if you eliminate the goat cheese.  The mix of onions and apples though is really what makes it- a bit more savory than your traditional kinda pie but I promise this apple inspired pizza pie is just as delicious!
