ASICS Gel-Fit Sana Review

There is often a lot of talk about the proper shoe for running but much of the time there is less mention of the type of shoe to wear while cross training.

Before I ever started seriously running, my fitness routine was centered around a lot of functional training and HIIT (high intensity interval training) type workouts. These workouts involve a lot of plyometrics, lateral movements, skipping rope- that sort of thing.

Since I workout from home most of the time, I would typically go barefoot or just in socks when performing a lot of these exercises but often times I found I would be in need of a little more support so when I was given the opportunity to review the ASICS Gel-Fit Sana shoes, I was ecstatic!

What I love about the Gel-Fit Sana shoes is that they adapt to support your foot with the inner lining from the heel to the forefoot. They actually offer a barefoot-like feeling with a light and flexible fit while still providing support.

I would describe the fit of the shoe as being glove-like, therefore it is not necessary that you wear socks with them but there is enough wiggle room for a thin sock if going sock-less isn’t your thing.

Over the course of the last few weeks I was able to test them out in a variety of different workouts including a sweaty workout with my sandbag and a kettlebell HIIT workout.

I cannot say enough about how AWESOME these felt on my feet. There was enough cushion for support when performing impact exercises while being lightweight enough so I could move quickly and efficiently without feeling like there was something bulky weighing me down.

Not only are these cushioned training shoes functional but they are also quite fashionable. I chose to get the Petal Pink/White/Fuchsia (since they match my sandbag so nicely) but there are also five other colors to choose from so you can match your gear too and look fabulously fit while running errands around town.

Overall, I give the Gel-Fit Sana two thumbs (toes?) up! They make my feet happy and I would highly recommend them to anyone who is looking to try a comfortable shoe for cross training or just running around town!

Do you wear specific shoes for cross-training? Have you ever tried the ASICS Gel-Fit Sana training shoes?
