Braun No Touch + Forehead Thermometer Review

Braun Thermometer As a member of Influenster I was recently given the opportunity to test out and review the Braun No Touch + Forehead Thermometer.  This literally could not have come at a better time.  We have all been sick in my house for, I swear, the last two weeks or so.  If I had to point the finger at any of my household members for infecting us it would be directly at my three year old.

She just started preschool at the beginning of September and without fail brought home the mother of all colds to share with the rest of us a week or so later.  This cold isn’t just your normal sniff, sneeze and cough.  It has lingered, it is gross and it came along with a on-going low grade fever.  She was nice enough to first pass it on to her 1 year old sister then to myself.  Sick Oprah

Obviously when you have sick kids that are exhibiting signs of a fever you want to be able to monitor it.  I actually own(ed) a forehead thermometer of a different brand that I had been using to take their temperatures but then it suffered a terrible, awful fate.  As life goes, my children were whining incessantly while I was trying to make dinner, so I decided to take their temps.  I did so and went to reach back into the cupboard to put the thermometer away and then splash….it fell into a bath of boiling rice and the thermometer was no more. So obviously, being sent a brand new Braun thermometer was a god send.  This thing is full of awesome features that make it super easy to take a sick kids temp!

  • Measures in 2 seconds.
  • Color coded temperature guidance depending on temperature range.
  • Positioning guidance system- lets you know if you’re aiming accurately!
  • No touch or forehead touch option! Works either way!
  • No probe cover needed, comes with protective cap.
  • Easy to use on sleeping child.
  • Comes with batteries- woohoo!

Braun no touch + forehead thermometer

After checking out the box and opening it I decided to give it a go.  My 1 year old had been crying and whiny all morning with a drippy nose and just happened to pass out on the floor with a blanket while her infected sister and I were watching Mickey Mouse. I simply removed it from it’s packaging, inserted the batteries and turned it on.

Now the challenge was creeping up on her to get a reading and seeing if this thermometer did what it was supposed to do.  I held it approximately an inch away in between her eyebrows as instructed and to my surprise it worked perfectly! Braun Thermometer After about 2 second I was provided with an accurate reading that said her temperature was 99.7 degrees.  Braun Thermometer The yellow color indicated that it was a low grade temp.  If it had been backlight with green it would mean normal temperature and if it had been red it would have indicated a high fever.  I love how simple it was to get a reading and it only took 2 seconds as promised.  My sweet little sick baby slept soundly on the floor uninterrupted until, of course, her sister decided she needed a tissue at which point she woke up.  Nice thought sister but from now on let sleeping babies drool.

Overall, I really love this thermometer and am happy and grateful that one was sent to me to test out.  Hopefully this nasty cold will go away but until then at least I can monitor our temps knowing that the Braun No Touch thermometer is effective and accurate!

bahahahaha! That photo of Oprah seriously just made me burst out laughing. As I am sitting home with my youngest and the plague. I hate this time of year. Normally I can fend off being sick but alas I'm loosing the battle today. I even had to get subs for my fitness classes that never happens. Booo to colds.

This looks so awesome! We have a forehead scanner for my son which is a million times better than a regular thermometer bc you just swipe it across his forehead, but this one is SO SO much better! Thanks for the review, I'm going to check it out!

I had a forehead scanner before too (the one I boiled) and this one is SO much easier!!! I love that it has the guide to make sure that you're pointing it close enough and properly to ensure that you're doing it right! :)

Ohmygosh... This is what happens when little people run the household! Gah, it kills me. Hopefully you steer clear of hand, foot, and mouth... (also, I need a forehead thermometer. This under the armpit stuff is for the birds!)

I know, it's crazy! I will cry if we end up with HFM, I can't imagine that was any fun! The forehead therm is definitely the way to go- my kids would never sit still for an armpit or mouth reading!
