Brownie Batter Vegan Breakfast Smoothie


Can we all give a collective cheer for Friday and the fact that I was FINALLY able tow whip up a new recipe?! Granted, it’s nothing crazy or fancy but it IS a smoothie that involves chocolate which tastes just like BROWNIE BATTER.

I was inspired to make this chocolatey breakfast concoction after trying one of my kiddos snacks.  You see, on the way to Great Wolf Lodge this past weekend I got HANGRY with an intense craving for some chocolate so I decided to dive into the Enjoy Life Cocoa Loco Baked Chewy Bars that I had bought for them and wouldn’t you know it tasted JUST like a brownie.  

Since they’re an Enjoy Life product they’re made to be allergy friendly which means that they’re free from milk, nuts, soy, and they’re also gluten free without containing any artificial anything.  

Anyway, upon eating this Enjoy Life Cocoa Loco Bar it hit me that it would taste AMAZING topped on a dairy and gluten free chocolatey smoothie which is exactly what I did once I got home and was able to sneak into my kitchen that’s currently under renovation. 

This Brownie Batter Vegan Breakfast Smoothie is gluten free, dairy free, soy free and packed with healthy plant protein to fuel your morning post workout!

While Enjoy Life chooses to keep their product nut free, I decided to add a tablespoon of almond butter to give it a little extra somethin’-somethin’.  I also added some oatmeal to make it a bit heartier which also makes it a great choice to refuel post-workout!

RECIPE 

Ingredients: 

You might also like:  Dairy Free Chocolate Peppermint Smoothie

Directions: 

  1. Add all ingredients except bar into blender and pulse until smooth. 
  2. Pour into large glass or jar and top with crumbled Cocoa Loco Baked Chewy Bar.
  3. Enjoy! :)
