Easy Curry and Sage Roasted Peptia Seeds

All you summer lovers don’t hate me when I say this but I am SO ready for fall.  To be honest, this summer hasn’t really been all that enjoyable as far as weather is concerned.  It’s been extra hot.  It’s been extra humid and for someone who hates being both hot and humid, it’s been extra miserable.  

I was truly hoping that the start of September would bring some cooler temps.  Not only am I ready for sweater weather, apple picking and the changing of the leaves but it’s also race season and running in this crap is the worst.   

Suffice it to say, my hopes and dreams of 60 degrees have been smashed these last few days.  Yesterday it was in the 80’s with humidity you could cut with a knife and today and Saturday aren’t looking much better.  

Anyway, I decided that it wasn’t going to let that stop me.  NFL football officially started last night which to me, signifies the official start of fall and any and everything that tastes like fall is fair game.  

Unfortunately, I haven’t had a lot of time to spend in the kitchen (nor do I want to with the god awful humidity) so I decided to whip up something quick and easy that tastes just like fall but doesn’t require too much time or effort.

These deliciously easy Curry & Sage Roasted Pepitas not only smell AMAZING while they’re baking in the oven but they also happen to fit perfectly with today’s Foodie Friday theme which is “Something Savory”.

They seriously are the perfect fall snack- not only are they portable for when you’re craving something crunchy on the go but they’re also great for snacking while you’re watching the boob tube, like Football. 

What I think I love most about them is how elegant they taste- if that makes sense? It’s the flavors.  The combination of the curry and the sage that really takes these pepitas to the next level.

Easy Curry & Sage Roasted Peptia Seeds Recipe- the perfect fall snack!

Curry & Sage Roasted Pepitas




  • 9 oz unsalted pepitas
  • 2 tbsp coconut oil
  • 1/4 tsp sage powder
  • 1/2 tsp curry powder
  • sea salt to taste



  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees. 
  2. In a medium bowl, coat pepitas with coconut oil and then evenly season with the curry, sage and salt. 
  3. Transfer to a baking sheet lined with parchment paper. 
  4. Bake, stirring occasionally for approximately 12 minutes. 
  5. Remove, let cool and store in an air tight container. 

Ps.  Did you know that pepitas, sage and curry all have amazing health benefits? Peptias are a great source of plant-based omega 3’s, magnesium and zinc.  Curry powder, which is a blend of spices that including turmeric, is great for fighting inflammation and sage also acts as an anti-inflammatory and can help boost the immune system.  

So I guess they aren’t just easy and delicious but these little roasted spiced seeds are also nutritious as well šŸ˜‰
