Fit and Fashionable Friday: Soybu Love

Happy Almost Friday! I have several exciting pieces of news to share with you! First, I will be linking up with Nicole from Fitful Focus every Friday (or almost Friday in my case) for Fit & Fashionable Friday to bring you posts about fitness and fitness fashion. How fantastic is that? Phew…that’s a lot of F words 😉

Fitful Focus

I am so excited about this link up because it means I will get to share a bunch of awesome things that I haven’t had a chance to feature yet like workouts, fitness equipment that I love AND super cute, functional workout clothes!

I know most of you don’t know me in real life, but if you did (or do) then you would know that I practically live in workout clothes.  Seriously, if I have to put real pants on then it involves quite the effort.  Honestly, who has time for that anyway? Plus being comfy is where. it’s. at.  I work hard enough during my workouts…I do not need to expend any more energy than necessary trying to put on actual clothes. That being said, just because I am of the lazy variety when it comes to style, I still like to look cute. Enter Soybu and my second announcement!Soybu

Soybu is a performance apparel designer with the philosophy that life should be all about balance which they apply to the clothes they create.  They strive to empower active women so that they will feel stylish, feminine and comfortable! They recently asked me to be one of their Community Leaders and I couldn’t be more humbled or appreciative.  As part of my duties, I get to share their fashionably comfortable clothes and show you how they fit into my active lifestyle.

SOYBU

Before I get into all the cute clothes, I just have to mention that each clothing item you order comes with this Soybu hair tie which I thought was really creative and thoughtful! I always love getting extra surprises :)

Ok, now onto the actual outfits! It was really hard to pick out just a few because all of their pieces are really beautiful and I could see myself wearing them all from working out to grocery shopping or even out to lunch.  I ended up choosing this particular outfit because I could totally see myself doing any of those things. When they arrived in the mail, I was pleased to find that not only were they just as awesome as they appeared on their site, but they were super comfy as well.

One of my favorite pieces is the Goddess Tank. The front is ruched which is extremely flattering and the back has this awesome racer back with a keyhole detail which I absolutely love. It’s constructed of Stretch RE-FLEX and has a removable shelf bra with padding.  Normally I am not a fan of shelf bras but this tank is really well constructed and fits absolutely perfectly.

Aside from some yoga poses and my balancing act on the BOSU I did some harder workouts in the outfit to really put it to the test :) Take a closer look at that keyhole detail in the tank…I seriously felt feminine even though I was reppin’ out some chin ups!

Soybu Killer Caboose Leggings

The bottoms I am wearing are the Killer Caboose Leggings and they seriously make the booty pop! They’re made of moisture wicking, breathable fabric and are incredibly comfortable and super slimming. They are perfect for getting your sweat on in or just throwing on to run some errands.

I actually did run a few errands right after these pics were snapped.  I had to go pick my daughter up from school and head to the grocery store so I just threw on the Isla Hoody and a pair of boots and I ready to go!

Soybu Isla Hoody

What I LOVE about the Isla Hoody is the crossover rib detailing on the back bottom hem! It really adds an interesting fun touch to it that differentiates it from other zip ups that I own.  I also have to mention that it’s super soft and wrinkle resistant which is important to me because one should never, ever have to iron a hoody, amirite?

To me, Soybu’s designs really do emulate strength, balance and beauty.  Not only are they comfortable and functional but their pieces are also feminine. This is just one of many outfits that I have to share but I will save the rest for another fit and fashionable post. Check back next week for more #fitnfashionable fun and don’t forget to head over to Fitful Focus, say hi to Nicole and link up tomorrow!

Special thanks to Raineydayz Photography for the awesome photos!

QOTD: Do you live in leggings and hoodies too or are you one of those over achievers that actually dresses in “real clothes”? 😛

Haha, thanks! Soybu actually makes a lot of patterned stuff I think that you'd like. I mostly fear pattern bc I am afraid it will make my butt look bigger...but you ALWAYS rock it!

I just got a pair of their leggings and they are the most comfortable pair of tights I've ever had. They are supposed to be for yoga, but they totally rock for working at home!

Love this!

Yep I live in leggings and pretty much anything athletic. With that said I tend to wear a lot of Athleta which yes has a lot of sweaters, dresses, ect that I wear out and even to weddings, yep I said it. I have lots of nice clothes but in the last year and a half-two years as my body has changed and they no longer fit it isn't worth spending money on them when I don't wear them often. I do invest in a nice pair or two of jeans but it isn't easy to find those with my muscular legs, no butt (but I think I actually have one now!), and smaller waist. Jeans just aren't my friend but I do invest in the couple I have so they do fit nice when I have to wear them. I instead like to invest in "workout" clothes from Lululemon, Athleta, ect. tanks and leggings I can workout in but yet pair with a cute top, sweater, or dress to dress up. I also have lots of hoodies for those comfortable laid back days! I was so excited when Athleta brought the athletic look to New York fashion week this year and that leggings and other "workout" clothes are starting to be more fashionable and cute and aren't "frumpy".

I do the EXACT same thing! I no longer buy many real clothes and whenever I go shopping I always make sure whatever top I get would pair well with leggings too. I have also invested in a few pairs of good jeans but I'd much rather wear leggings and a cute top. It pretty much started when I was pregnant and I haven't gone back to real clothes since ;) I do like to look cute though and I think it's awesome that a lot of these companies are making transitional pieces now :)

It's not uncommon for my sister and I or my BFF and I to text each other "real pants or yoga pants" haha! I could live in leggings and hoodies. Unfortunately my employer is NOT on board lol

Yet another sign we would get along great- I live in my yoga clothes! I actually hate wearing regular clothes if it can be avoided. If I were allowed, I would work in my yoga pants (which I'm sure all the men I work with would enjoy haha but managers not so much :-p)

P.S. I've been out of the loop on blogging/commenting lately. I have a lot to catch up on so sorry that I missed a few of your posts! I LOVE that outfit!

We are certainly almost the same person! Real clothes are just not my thing anymore....no reason to get dressed therefore I don't, haha! No worries about missing posts...it has been crazy for me lately too! I have literally been spending any free minute I have catching up on blogging!

I've never heard of this company, but some cute stuff for sure! I've got to ask, what kind of camera do you use? Do you use a tripod I'm assuming?

Their stuff is super cute! I actually had someone else take the pictures and they used a canon camera. Hopefully Santa will bring me my own canon for Christmas so I can start taking higher quality pics myself :)
