Foodie Friday: Berry Beetiful Smoothie Bowl

Smoothie bowls.  While harder to eat on the go than your traditional smoothie in a cup, they are no less delicious and even more customizable with the endless variety of toppings that you can add and today, they are being featured for our Foodie Friday linkup! 

Foodie Friday: Berry Beetiful Smoothie Bowl {Berry Smoothie, Beet Smoothie, Healthy Skoop Sweet Beet, Pro Alpha Nutrition Vanilla Protein, Vegan, Gluten Free, Hemp Hearts, Cacao nibs, Goji Berries}

 Naturally since it’s September and fall is on the way (whenever this ridiculous heat wave ends), my first idea for a recipe was something fall inspired…apples, pumpkins or pears with a little bit of cinnamon and spice.  Then, it occurred to me….if summer wants to stick around why not make a sweet beet and berry smoothie bowl and savor the last few weeks? 

The best part about this smoothie is that it takes no time to make at all, is only 4 ingredients and can be topped with whatever you please.  I picked goji berries their rich nutrients and a pop of color, cacao nibs for antioxidants and hemp hearts (my new obsession if you missed it) for their omega fatty acids and nutty crunch. 

Berry Beetiful Smoothie Bowl {Healthy Skoop Sweet Beet, Pro Alpha Nutrition Protein, Gluten Free, Vegan, Breakfast Smoothie}

 The smoothie itself is made up of unsweetened vanilla non-dairy milk, frozen strawberries, a scoop of Healthy Skoop Sweet Beet and a scoop of Pro Alpha Nutrition vegan vanilla protein powder! I know, I KNOW, I am not supposed to have strawberries because of my histamine intolerance and all but I had to make this smoothie for the heck of it.  I mean, once I had the name “Berry Beetiful” in mind, there was no turning back.

BERRY BEETIFUL SMOOTHIE BOWL {VEGAN, GLUTEN FREE}


RECIPE

Ingredients: 

Directions: 

  1. In a blender, combine milk, strawberries, Sweet Beet powder and protein powder. 
  2. Blend until smoothie. 
  3. Pour into a medium size bowl. 
  4. Top with cacao nibs, goji berries and hemp hearts. 
  5. Enjoy! :)
