Oatmeal Cookie Protein Smoothie {Vegan}Welcome back to our weekly Foodie Friday link up! This week we are linking up to share yummilicious oatmeal recipes.  I used to love enjoying a piping hot bowl of oatmeal everyday for breakfast, constantly changing up the flavors with different combinations of ingredients like berries, nuts and such.  

Lately though, I have been enjoying my oatmeal a different way- in a cold and refreshing smoothie.  I know what you’re thinking and I know it sounds weird but this is just one of those things you can’t knock until you try it.  

Oatmeal just thickens the smoothie which helps to fill you up and keep your tummy full and happy.  Plus if you add in protein powder and almond butter like I did with this one, it will keep you feeling full even longer- it also doesn’t hurt that it tastes just like a chocolate chip oatmeal cookie 😉 Oatmeal Cookie Protein Smoothie {Vegan}oatmealsmoothie3

Ingredients:
– 1 cup unsweetened vanilla almond milk
– 1/2 cup gluten free oats
– 1 scoop vegan vanilla protein powder (I used Vega)
– 1 tbsp raw almond butter
– 1 tbsp vegan chocolate chips (I used Enjoy Life)

Blend and top with more chocolate chips :)
