Meatless Monday: PlantFusion Protein On The Go!


I hate to admit it but my life has become a lot about convenience lately.  So much of my time has been spent taking everything to the next level; building the blog, starting a running club, working to open a fitness studio.  All on top of being a mom and a wife and training for my upcoming half marathon.

To say that I am stretching myself thin is an understatement.  I barely have time to take a shower let alone prepare myself three square meals so the food I am fueling with has to be convenient but that doesn’t mean that it can’t be healthy. In fact, just because I am busy doesn’t mean that my food fueling standards have changed. When it comes to something quick and portable I still need it to be gluten, dairy, and soy free along with free of all that yucky chemical crap (that’s a technical term).  

Thankfully, I have recently been introduced to such a product which is why I am choosing to share it with you today instead of a new recipe.

While most of the time I do make and shake my own protein drinks, there have been occasions (like lately) that I’ve searched to find a ready made protein drink that fit all my requirements.  

I even thought I may have found one while out grocery shopping a few months ago.  I was hungry and desperate for something to satisfy my hunger until it was dinner time only to try it and realize that I was allergic to one of the ingredients.  Also, it didn’t taste all that great either.  FAIL.

So, when I was told by PlantFusion that they came out with a brand new ready to drink protein shake and asked if I wanted to give it a try, of course I said yes! Since I enjoy the taste of PlantFusion’s other protein powders, I figured I had nothing to lose!

Getting the obvious out of the way first, let’s talk about taste.  Like I said earlier, I’ve tried similar ready to drink vegan protein shakes before and was just not impressed by how they tasted.

PlantFusion’s shake, on the other hand, actually tasted good. Smooth (not chalky), just the right amount of sweetness and no weird aftertaste.  I only tried the chocolate version (it also comes in vanilla) but it tasted just like what you might think a chocolate shake should taste like- chocolatey! 

The yummy taste isn’t the only reason I like it though, as I mentioned earlier, I can be pretty picky about my protein powders.  Obviously, like their other products, PlantFusion’s ready to drink shake is gluten, soy and dairy, non- GMO and contains nothing artificial but here is how it shakes (haha) up to other like ready made protein drinks on the market:

So not only does it have less calories and sugar but also contains MORE protein than other comparable products.  WIN! 

Given the fact that my life only stands to get busier with the opening of my new Strength In Motion Fitness Studio soon, you bet that I will be keeping these on hand when I am running (not literally) from my house to the studio and back.
