Last month I was contacted by Neocell asking if I wanted to try out their new Biotin Bursts as well as another product of my choice. While normally I don’t really like to review supplements of any kind, I was curious to try out edible “beauty products” that were in something other than pill form.

My husband (a chiropractor and nutrition professor) actually takes biotin every day and regularly preaches it’s benefits.  You think I’d take it too but I’m bad at remembering to take pills in general but am much better at remembering if I can eat it like a treat! 😉

So, upon checking out Biotin Bursts and browsing their site, I happily agreed to see what it was all about!

Neocell Biotin Bursts Review + Giveaway

Neocell Biotin Bursts (gluten & soy free) are a gourmet supplement that “deliver high potency beauty nutrients in a delectable, gourmet soft chew” which is low in sugar and available in the delicious Brazilian Acai Berry flavor.

These little chews are packed with 10,000 MCG of Biotin per chew which support hair and skin health.

Honestly, I wasn’t sure what to expect with the chews but I was pleasantly surprised by how easy they were to eat (they don’t stick to your teeth) and how consistent I have been in taking them.

I honestly look forward to eating my little Biotin Burst every day and think they are actually helping with my hair and nail health. It’s hard to say for sure since I bite my nails and have crazy thick hair anyway but I still really enjoy taking them and will continue to order them once I run out!

Neocell Collagen Sport Chocolate Review + Giveaway

The other product that I picked out to try was the Collagen Sport Ultimate Recovery powder in the chocolate flavor (free of gluten, lactose, synthetic ingredients and artificial flavors).  The reason that I picked this out (despite the fact that I use vegan protein) is because a while back I used to add unflavored grass fed collagen to my protein shakes on a regular basis.

The reason for this being is that including collagen as a supplement is said to help rebuild elasticity, reduce joint and pain stiffness, improve circulation and help promote the healing of injuries.

Since I haven’t tried it in a while, I was interested in trying out Neocell’s grass fed Collagen Sporty Ultimate Recovery Complex powder in chocolate to see how it differed from the unflavored grass fed collagen I had used sometime ago.

One serving of this particular powder has 30 grams of protein and consist of 19 amino acids rich in glycine, proline, alanine and hydroxyproline.

Suggested use is to blend 1 scoop into a dairy free smoothie which is exactly what I did.  The directions also state that it is designed to be blended easily without a shaker cup but I found it to be a little grainy when not blended in a smoothie.

  • Goji berries to top (optional)

  1. Place all ingredients (except goji berries) in blender and blend until smooth
  2. Top with goji berries.
