Pumpkin Spice Coffee Protein Smoothie {Vegan}

Happy Friday and LAST day of September! You know what that means right?! Tomorrow kicks off the first day of October and all things PUMPKIN SPICE.  

I’ve been told by a few people that pumpkin spice is only socially acceptable after September ends and while I might be bending the rules by a few hours, I figured it was worth the risk to share with you this DE-LIC-IOUS pumpkin spice smoothie that combines the flavors of coffee along with some plant protein to really take it to the next level.  

Aside from tomorrow being October, today is also the perfect day to share this fall inspired smoothie given that it is Foodie Friday and our theme just happens to be “festive drinks”.

Whip up this healthy vegan version of a pumpkin spice coffee- it's made with plant protein powder for an added boost of nutrition! Whip up this delicious dairy and gluten free smoothie with just a few simple ingredients!

I have to admit that while normally I would be eyeballs deep in all things spice right now, this year I have had maybe 1 or two pumpkin flavored treats.  One being straight up flavored coffee and the other being this ridiculously dreamy smoothie.  

It has everything you need to enjoy the flavors of fall….a little bit of pumpkin, a little bit of spice, some maple almond butter and a scoop of coffee flavored protein.  Combined they create this mason jar of amazingness.  What makes it even better is that it’s vegan, gluten free and of course, packed with protein meaning you can enjoy this pumpkin spice treat post-workout! 




Pumpkin Spice Coffee Protein Smoothie {Vegan, Gluten Free}



  • 1 cup unsweetened almond milk 
  • 1/2 cup ice
  • 1/2 cup pumpkin puree 
  • 2 tbsp maple almond butter (I used Justin’s)
  • 1 25 gram scoop coffee protein powder (I used NuZest
  • 1/4 tsp pumpkin pie spice
  • 1/4 tsp ground cinnamon
  • dairy free whipped topping (optional)

  1. Combine all ingredients (besides whipped topping) in a blender. 
  2. Pour into a large size glass. 
  3. Pipe on whipped topping, if desired and sprinkle with cinnamon. 
  4. Consume immediately.  

Serves one.
