Running Flavors Recipe Series on RunRagnar.com


As most of you know, I focus on making allergy friendly recipes for busy athletes and parents.  I also LOVE to run 200 mile Ragnar Relays for fun.  Well, I am excited to announce that starting this month my recipes will now be featured on the Ragnar Relay blog in a new series called Running Flavors.

This month they are featuring my Chocolate Chip Pumpkin Protein Bars which I recently shared on here because they are so darn delicious.  If you missed them be sure to head over to RunRagnar.com for the recipe or you can also pin them for later :) 

Ragnar refers to them as

The BEST EVER Paleo Chocolate Chip Pumpkin Protein Bars! They're gluten free, vegan, soy free and packed with plant protein making them perfect for breakfast or a healthy dessert!

While the series is starting off with a currently shared recipe, from now on they’ll be original recipes you won’t be able to find on TheFitFoodieMama.com.  

As always, the recipes will be allergy friendly meaning they’ll be free of gluten and dairy but the real focus will be on the fact that they’re made for fueling Ragnarians.  What does that mean? Well, whether you’re in Ragnar training mode (hello two-a-days) or need healthy van friendly snacks then this series has you covered.  

Each month a new easy peasy recipe will be shared so be sure to hop over to RunRagnar.com to check it out or follow them on Facebook to find the latest deliciousness on your feed.  

Next month’s recipe is has already been submitted and let me tell you, you won’t want to miss it. I’ve actually been dying to share it here but they called dibs on it first 😛

I have tried to make them but each time they have come out gooey and not settled like your photo is. Any tips?

    Hi! So sorry to hear that it didn't come out for you. A couple of things:
    1. Make sure you use pumpkin puree and not pumpkin pie mix.
    2. Make sure you stir the almond butter so that it's not oily (use the thicker part of the butter).
    3. Maybe leave them in a little bit longer and then let them totally cool to set.
