Running Gifts That Commemorate A Special Race

If you were to ask most runners what they want a majority would answer new shoes, running gear or a fancy new GPS.  In fact, when I recently polled a group of runners, the items on their running wish list included those and a few other “necessary” things.

The fact of the matter is that runners are practical people but that doesn’t mean that they don’t like sentimental gifts.  Actually, it’s just the opposite.  Runners tend to hold on to items and things that connect them to their achievements which is why gifts that commemorate a special race may be just what they want this holiday season even if it’s not what they’re asking for.

Here’s a few ideas to give you some inspiration.

Personalized Marathoner Map

One of my absolute favorite ways to commemorate a special race is with Run Ink’s Marathoner Maps.  I not only had one made for my first marathon but also but one to celebrate my sister’s first half marathon.

They’re a work of art that any runner would proudly display on their wall.  Price: $17.00

Race T-Shirt Quilt

Project Repat

Runners are notorious for hoarding all the race tees and wearing approximately none of them.  Help them put their t-shirts to good use by turning them into a commemorative quilt.  The one displayed above is a lap blanket I had made last year from Project Repat.  Prices vary from $74.99-$239.99 (Lap to King Size Blankets) but you can save 15% when you sign up for their email list.

Race T-Shirt Pillow

Or perhaps a pillow is more your style.  Get a race bib and t-shirt pillow made from LorraineRDesigns. Price $35.00
