Tips for Staying Hydrated Like a Boss

We all know that staying hydrated is important, especially those that are runners and athletes.  Lack of hydration or dehydration can cause headaches, inflammation, irritability, exhaustion and even hunger.

While some of us love H2O, there are others who choose beverages like soda and sugary drinks to quench their thirst which not only doesn’t hydrate you but can cause dehydration and all the fun stuff that comes along with it.

If you’re one of the ones who struggle to drink the recommended daily amount, then here are some tips that will help you stay hydrated like a boss.

Tips for Staying Hydrated Like a Boss

This post is sponsored by Gerolsteiner Sparkling Mineral Water in partnership with Fit Approach but as always, all opinions are my own.

Start your day with it.

If you’re like me then coffee is the first thing that you think about when you wake up.  Without coffee, I cannot function.  That being said, I also start my day with water too.  As I pour myself a cup (or 5) of coffee, I also grab a glass of water and drink it as well.  Just like coffee, it will help you wake up as well as replace fluids that you lost while sleeping.

Schedule it in.

Just as you would a workout or a meeting with your boss, you can schedule in regular water breaks to keep yourself hydrated.  If writing it down via pen and paper isn’t your style, there are plenty of apps available that will not only tell you how much water you should be drinking but also remind you throughout the day to drink up.

Substitute sparkling water.

If regular water just isn’t your thing, sub in sparking water instead.  Replacing normal beverages with sparkling water like Gerolsteiner Sparkling Natural Mineral Water is an awesome way to not only stay hydrated but also get the essential minerals (like calcium and magnesium) that your body needs.

Thankfully I love plain water. I love it ice cold so there's never a problem chugging it all day long.

These are helpful tips. I used an app to remind me to drink water the week before a half marathon, which worked well. Besides coffee, water is my favorite drink:)

I feel like this is going to be the easiest detox ever! Also, I like my water room temperature . . . was worried that because it was bubbly, Gerolsteiner would taste weird un-cold . .. but it was really good!

There's nothing better than ice cold water - it's my fav! I usually start my day out with a cup of hot tea, but I could definitely switch that for sparkling water.

Lord knows I need all the help I can get to remember to stay hydrated, especially while at work all day! I do find that I tend to drink a lot more when my water sparkles!

I love plain water, but always look forward to a refreshing sparkling water mid afternoon. I've gotten a lot of soda loving friends hooked on sparkling water though.

I start with coffee and after that it's all water all day! I'd be down for some more minerals, though!

I do love my water but have not tried this one yet!

Great tips! I had a migraine last week and it was horrrrrible. :'( Was so hard to stay functional while I was working. My triggers tend to be sleep deprivation and dehydration, so I reallyyy need to work on drinking more water! x_x

I definitely need to be better about starting my day with water. My dad always chugs a glass first thing in the morning. I need to follow in my dad's footsteps for sure!
