‘Tis the Season for Smoothies and Festive Mocktails!

It’s the 2nd day of December which mean Christmas is only 23 days away and we get to ring in 2015 in just 29 sleeps from now.  Just typing that out gives me anxiety…I have barely begun my Christmas shopping and I really don’t foresee having any time in the next three weeks to get it done…yikes! 

Back to the fact that it’s December.  While it might mean the holidays are nearing close, it also means that it is the last month of the Puritan’s Pride Seasonal Smoothie Campaign.  Over the last two months I have been sharing my seasonal smoothie recipes with support from Puritan’s Pride.  

While the other smoothies I have made as part of this campaign have been focused on nutritious meal replacements, this month we are focusing on healthy mocktail recipes so you can celebrate the holidays without all the guilt.  

Puritan’s Pride was nice enough to send this box of goodies to me so I could include them in my mocktail/smoothie recipe.  They also all have awesome health benefits aside from making great drink ingredients.


Puritan's Pride Giveaway


Puritan’s Pride Whey Protein For Her Vanilla Bean: Specifically designed for women’s needs, this protein powder provides whey proteins in a low fat great tasting supplement that supports lean muscle and naturally contains amino acids that are used as fuel for the energy needed for workouts.  It’s 100 calories per serving, easy to mix, low fat, aspartame free, 94% lactose free and free of artificial colors, preservatives, gluten, wheat, and yeast.

Vanns Peppermint Flavor Extract: Few flavors are as distinctly tantalizing as the cool, minty vibrancy of Peppermint Extract. Use in cake, cookies, frosting and ice cream dishes.

Since I couldn’t imagine combining them all in a single drink and making it taste good- I chose to highlight them on their own in three different recipes! One is a mocktail while the other two are more traditional smoothies though still very festive! 

Cranberry Ginger Mocktail

Cranberry Ginger Mocktail: 

  • 1 cup of filtered water
  • 1/2 cup of frozen or fresh cranberries
  • 3 or 4 small pieces of Lehi Valley Natural Ginger
  • 1 tsp of Stevia Powder

Combine all and blend.  Pour into a fancy martini glass and garnish with cranberries and pieces of ginger. Sip and enjoy 😉

Peppermint Mocha Protein Smoothie

Peppermint Mocha Smoothie: 

  • 1 cup unsweetened vanilla almond milk 
  • 1/2 avocado
  • 1 scoop Vanilla Bean Whey for Her protein powder
  • 2 tbsp cacao powder
  • 1 tsp Stevia Powder (or to taste)
  • 1/2 tsp Vann’s Peppermint Flavor Extract
  • 1-2 tsp of cacao nibs to garnish

Combine everything in a blender except cacao nibs and blend until smooth.  Pour into a large glass and top with cacao nibs.  Sip and enjoy- it tastes just like Andes Mints!Pomegranate Spinach Protein Smoothie

Pomegranate Spinach Smoothie: 

  • 1 cup unsweetened vanilla almond milk 
  • 1 handful of baby spinach
  • 1 handful of ice (or frozen banana, if you please)
  • 2 tbsp Pomegranate Juice Concentrate 
  • 2 tbsp chia seeds
  • 1 scoop Vanilla Bean Whey for Her protein powder
  • Pomegranate seeds for garnish

Combine all in a blender and blend until smooth.  Pour into a glass and top with pomegranate seeds.  Sip and enjoy!

I"m thinking that Peppermint Mocha needs some espresso! I would have never thought to put pomegranate and ginger together! And then there is the green smoothing....ALWAYS a classic! Love your pics and the Christmas festive glassware!!!

    Why thank you, I went on a shopping spree at Pier 1 :) I was thisclose to putting coffee in the peppermint mocha but when I sipped it, it just tasted so good so I left it alone (Ps. I hate peppermint but it really was delicious).
