Vegetarian Game Day Recipes that Even Carnivores Will Crave


As some of you may or may not know, I am a HUGE NFL football fan.  It is one of the reasons I love fall so much and one of my favorite ways to spend a Sunday.  

As any avid football fan knows, game day eats are just as important as the game itself.  Typically we whip up some form of roast or healthy wings but since today’s Foodie Friday theme is “Vegetarian” I thought it would be fun to share some recipes you can whip up to chow down on while you’re watching the game.  

Vegetarian and gluten free recipe for game day that even carnivores will crave!

These three recipes will not only help you to satisfy the need for comfort food on chilly Sunday afternoons but are also so yummy that even carnivores will be craving them.  

Black Bean & Mushroom “Meatballs”

By far my most shared recipe to date, with over 17k pins, these meatless “meatballs” are anything but dull and boring.  Whip some up to share as an appetizer or serve them along with some marinara sauce and some pasta for an extra hearty dish. 

Buffalo Cauliflower Bites

If you want the taste and experience of buffalo chicken wings without the chicken then these vegan buffalo bites are for you.  They’re super simple to make and offer all spicy goodness of the buffalo flavor without the meat. 

Southwestern Stuffed Sweet Potatoes

Southwestern Stuffed Sweet Potaotes

If you’re a fan of southwest flavors and love sweet potatoes then this stuffed spud is for you.  Spiced with cumin and cajun and topped with avocado, black beans and sriracha, it delivers a ton of flavor that’s totally meat-free.
