Wild Workout Wednesday: No Foolin’ Around! #RockYourCore, DVRT + More

Happy 1st day of April!!! Can’t believe we are already in the 4th month of 2015 and March is behind us.  Hopefully that means warmer weather sometime in the near future and that I can finally take all my runs OUTSIDE!!!!

Unfortunately most of my March miles were done on the treadmill…

And though I ran less than last month it was mainly because I was tapering for the Syracuse Half Marathon which I finished much stronger than expected so no complaints there.  I also pretty much took a week off of running post half marathon except for a few miles here and there just to give my body a rest.  

I plan to pick my miles back up for April and have just one race on the schedule, the Fork2Fit CNY Springtime 10k.  I also participated in it last year (the first year it was held) which also happened to be my first 10k ever! It is super hilly but since I know what to expect, I am not too worried! 

March was also full of other exciting things including the DVRT (Dynamic Variable Resistance Training) Certification that I attended in NYC at the beginning of the month where I learned that failure is not final.

Though I didn’t pass my physical test at first, I overcame and cleaned, pressed and conquered my way to being officially certified as a DVRT Instructor! In upcoming Workout Wednesday posts I plan to share more about DVRT, how to implement it into your fitness routine and highlight certain exercises.

For now, I will just share with you a DVRT HIIT workout that they shared on the UlimateSandbag.com blog the other day, it’s intense and scorches some serious calories!
