Ah, I have so much to share again this week but I will try to keep it short and simple aka, not bore you! 😉 

MoveItMonday Spotlight:

First, I have to share with you this feature that MoveItMonday was nice enough to put together.  They are starting an Ambassador Spotlight series and I am honored to be the first! 

Move It Monday #MondayMile

I know I don’t really get personal a lot but if you want to know more about why I started blogging about my fitness journey, it is really well written and explained in the spotlight.  Certainly better than I could ever convey it and it’s my story! :)

ShiftFit Strong Update:

Speaking of my fitness journey, I told you last week that I am part of a trial group for the ShiftFit Strong strength training program.  Even though it means shifting my focus a bit from running to strength training, it is only for a few months until I begin marathon training.  Honestly, I think it will really help me to be a stronger runner so it will all be worth it! 

The end of last week involved a core workout, applied fitness workout and lower body workout oh and a MUCH needed rest day! :)

This week so far I have done an upper body workout (LOTS OF chin-ups/pull ups) and a stair workout.

Starting next week, I am going to do a quick “ShiftFit Strong Progress Check-in” with measurements and such.  More of a way for me to keep track of it but you can follow along too just in case it is a program you might be interested in once it’s finalized.

    Same here! It is still in the 50's (warm for us) but looking forward to 60 degrees and really getting to enjoy the outdoors!

I totally agree that strength training leading up to marathon training will make you a stronger runner! I find it really difficult to balance both once training actually starts, though!

    I can keep up with both, I think as I don't usually run every day BUT this particular program is pretty intense and can't imagine strength training at this level while running that many miles.

I just got back from Paraguay, which was like 90 degrees and humid...and before I left it was in the 30s here in NJ, so it was nice to come back and have 60-70 degree weather!! I'm so excited for running in the spring!
