Welcome to back to our Wild Workout Wednesday link up! Each week I link up with Angelena Marie from  Angelena Marie: Happy, Healthy & Balanced , Upala at Pretty in Pink Fitness, and Amber at Bold Fit Mom  to bring you workout ideas, motivation, inspiration and recipes to try.  Join us for a wild workout each week by reading along or grab the button and link up if you have a fitness or healthy living post to share!

I know I had mentioned in last week’s post that I was going to go into my experience at the DVRT certification a little more but I am going to save it for tomorrow and keep you waiting one more day.  There is so much I wanna say and it involves more time than I’ve had to write it all down.

Instead, I am going to do a quick little review of the wrist support wraps I received from WeightLiftingGloves.com which are also part of my Blogiversary giveawayWeightliftinggloves Partner Athlete

For those of you that don’t know, wrist support wraps are commonly used in the gym for weightlifting, kettlebell exercises, rowing, pull ups or for any other type of activity which puts a lot of strain on your wrists.

Since vibration is the main cause of sore wrists, they tend to start to hurt from overuse.  Stimulating blood flow to the region by using wraps helps to alleviate pain and inflammation, relax tendons and relieve pressure.

NewGrip, sold on WeightLiftingGloves.com, makes wrist wraps that does exactly this plus have a host of other features which make them one of the leading brands.

  • Designed to eliminate the pain related to carpal tunnel syndrome, tendonitis, and wrist overuse.
  • Supports your wrist while keeping your hand free, NewGrips can be worn 24/7 and won’t keep you from the activities you enjoy.
  • The only wrist support on the market that support your wrist with a 100% cotton, non-elastic wrist strap.
  • Can be used with NewGrip Hand Pads or without.

When I received them to review, they could not have come at a better time since I was practicing for my Clean and Press test for the DVRT Certification.  Honestly, my wrists have always been a little weak and I even struggle with holding a pot at times, clearly I need to work on my grip strength!

What is nice about the wrist support straps is that they allowed me to continue practicing without pain since they absorb shock and vibration.  I even continued to wear them after working out and noticed that my wrists felt more secure when picking up large pots full of water and moving the vacuum around.

I also love that they won’t strain or shrink with use like leather plus they are handmade in the USA!

I honestly wish I had tried these sooner so I could have saved my poor wrists some pain and my tummy some ibuprofen.  Thankfully, now I can build my wrist and grip strength without pain and do as many cleans, presses and pull ups as I please.

Huge thanks to WeightliftingGloves.com for sending me a pair to try out and agreeing to giveaway a pair to celebrate my blogiversary! You can enter using the rafflecopter link below! :)

When I was teaching boot camp classes I did tons of push-ups throughout the day and my wrists really started to bother me. Purchasing wrist straps was great for me. The ones you are using look much smaller which I like. Wrist straps are a great idea and save you a lot of pain!
